Jai Bharath Institute of Community Development and Research Services (JBICDR)

JBICDR is an NGO registered with NITI Aayog, Govt. of India (unique ID KL/2021/0275899), established in October 2006 and registered under the Act XII of the Travancore Cochin Scientific, Literary and Charitable Societies Registration Act, 1955. Its objective is to engage in social development and research activities aimed at the overall development of Keralites, especially those who are marginalized.

The institute is engaged in field action projects with a dual vision:

We embrace the values of honesty, courage, care, veracity, and freedom.

Jai Bharath Institute of Community Development and Research Services serves as the live lab for social work students to enhance their skill training and fieldwork practice in a wider area. Field action projects provide opportunities to pilot various programs within specific fields in the community, such as schools, hospitals, Kudumbashree mission, local Panchayat programs, and corporations.

The institute facilitates and pioneers new service academic and development activities in collaboration with governmental and non-governmental organizations.

Initiatives

JBICDR takes up research and action assignments from governmental as well as non-governmental agencies, executed by student social workers under professional supervision. This provides opportunities for students to gain intellect and earn incentives through action projects.

The Department of Social Work

The Department of Social Work at Jai Bharath College was established in 2004. The Department is committed to social work campaigns to improve the quality of life for the downtrodden. It seeks individuals with a commitment to bring positive change in society and provides them with training and orientation to fulfill their goals effectively.

The academic program is rigorous, enabling students with the right attitude and knowledge to address social problems in the world. The mission is to act on social justice issues through community change initiatives by challenging oppressive societal structures and reaffirming respectful, meaningful, and collaborative relationships as core elements of social work practice.

Mission of JBICDR

Jai Bharath Institute for Community Development and Research Services, a non-profit organization in Kerala, aims to empower underprivileged children, youth, and women through relevant education, innovative healthcare, and livelihood programs.
